From makeover to make under: How to master the minimalist makeup look
From makeover to make under: How to master the minimalist makeup look

Never has the concept ‘’less is more’’ been more relevant than with the most current makeup trend of today – the no makeup makeup look. While makeup can be used for creativity and glamour to completely transform the face, it can also be used to naturally highlight your best features and put your natural beauty on full display.

The minimalist no makeup look is right on-trend amongst some of the world’s best-loved celebrities, reality stars and artists, so why not give it a go on your next night out? Here’s a simple tutorial and some highly recommended products to achieve the best natural makeup look for a fresh-faced glow:

Step 1:

Mastering au-natural makeup begins with skincare, so make sure to apply an SPF- protectant moisturiser first and foremost! To create a softly polished look ideal for work, a first-date, a job interview or a family outing, begin with a little concealer under your eyes – a colour correcting concealer in peach or red tones will do wonders for cancelling out dark under-eye circles.

Step 2:

After you’ve applied concealer, buff on a little foundation across the rest of your face. We recommend the Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Foundation for a smooth, flawless texture that’s not too heavy on the skin. Top this with a light layer of setting powder to eliminate shine throughout the day.

Step 3:

From here, move to those brows. They always deserve a little attention – no matter what makeup look you’re going for! Brush them up and into place, then apply brow gel for definition. Finish this off with a clear gel to keep them in place throughout the day.

Step 4:

Your lashes are probably the most important aspect of this fresh-faced, no makeup makeup look! Make sure to curl them, then apply lashings of your favourite mascara for volume. To take your look from day-to-night, apply a little eyeliner to your lower lash line with the Maybelline Color Show Crayon Kohl in Chocolate Chip. If you want to add a touch of eyeshadow, go for a natural shade, such as bronze or a light dusty pink.

Step 5:

Finally, finish off with a touch of blush on the apples of the cheeks and a few layers of the Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm in Peach Kiss for a sumptuous, natural sheen.
