Magnetic eyelashes are the next big thing
Magnetic eyelashes are the next big thing

It really is no secret - the world is obsessed with thick, luscious lashes at the moment and we’re all for it! With the surge in eyelash serums, eyelash curling procedures, and lengthening mascaras of all kinds, eyelashes have become the ultimate makeup accessory.

But let’s get down to brass tacks: 8 out of 10 women would probably admit that they do not enjoy applying false lashes, or even know how to do so without smudging that icky glue or pulling an eyelash off accidentally! This is where one of the latest eye makeup trends comes in to save the day – magnetic eyelashes.

If humanity is capable of finding water on the moon, we’re capable of solving an eyelash crisis, and magnetic lashes have become the easiest way to apply false lashes for the woman on-the-go. Here’s how they work…

The science behind magnetic eyelashes

Magnetic lashes are secured to the upper and lower lash lines using tiny magnets that lock together to secure the lashes in place. Most full strip lashes feature four magnets that are virtually invisible, while accent lashes feature three magnets. In short, your natural lashes are sandwiched together between two strips, held together by miniscule magnets.

How to apply magnetic eyelashes

Applying false lashes has honestly never been easier. While each product will differ slightly, it’s best to follow manufacturer instructions. But generally, the process is the same. The first step is to trim the lash so it fits the natural shape and length of your own lash line. Then, apply a thin layer of mascara to your natural lashes for better grip. From here, all you need to do is attach the upper magnetic lashes to your upper lash line; after that, place the lower lashes underneath your natural lash line. The magnets will lock the lashes together and hold them in place, no budging, smudging or uneven lashes!

How to choose magnetic lashes

At present, there are two magnetic lash variations on the market – synthetic, and natural human hair lashes. If you are prone to allergies, it’s extremely important to choose the right lashes! Generally, natural human hair lashes are the way to go.

While these lashes are far simpler to apply, they still require a touch of finesse. Make sure to practise their application before you decide to wear them for a fancy, dressy event to avoid any potential eyelash faux pas!
